Moonshine Mountains Weddings, Elopements & Event Policies

Our goal at Moonshine Mountain is to provide couples and guests with an iconic, memorable, experience, at a fair and transparent price. We offer the use of our venue, with respect being the only thing we ask in return. To our guests, Moonshine is a venue. To us, it's home. We've poured our hearts and souls into this property long before the thought of sharing it with the world ever crossed our minds.

Our friends that join us up on the Mountain do so because their souls long for a peaceful, refreshing, intimate experience. They're here to enjoy the company of family and friends, to embrace disconnect from a busy urban life, to build campfires, and have conversations about life- set to a mountain sky full of stars.

We don't have a lot of rules. We think people should be free to enjoy themselves. The small restrictions we do impose upon our guests are to keep our neighbors happy and to maintain the authentic Colorado atmosphere that embodies life here at Moonshine.

We've outlined our small set of rules below, along with answers to some of the questions most asked by couples and guests hosting events at the venue.

Restrictions & F.A.Q.'s

Financial

When is the final balance due?

Final balance is due 1 week prior to date of event

Are we required to put down a deposit to secure our date?

A 50% deposit is required to hold your date. Until the deposit is received, we cannot guarantee your date will be available.

Are there any extra costs?

The only extra fees we would charge is (a) if you are wanting to hold a rehearsal the day prior to your event; (b) if the number of guests substantially increased over your initial projection; and (c) you are required to provide Event Insurance, to include the appropriate Alcohol Rider if alcohol (that is provided by your group (the Renter)) is to be served. Moonshine Mountain Colorado does NOT provide any alcohol at any event; all alcohol served is to be provided by your group (the Renter) and specified in your Contract.

How much would it be to hold the rehearsal here?

Rehearsal time can be scheduled for the day prior to your event for a fee of $350. That gives you access to Moonshine Mountain for 4 hours (typically 4:00pm-8:00pm), plenty of time to meet with family and friends, have a bite to eat, run through equipment checks and rehearse your ceremony.

What is included in the price?

The price of your wedding package includes use of Moonshine Mountain from 7:00am-10:00pm the date of your event (event finished and sound off by 9:00pm, final cleanup and check-out from property by 10:00pm); everything listed on the last page of the Sample Contract I sent over yesterday (see Addendum #1), as well as any Special Conditions that would be added to your contract (initialed by both Owner and Renter) specific to your event, i.e. if we are providing a TIPS certified bartender, we would have that specified in your contract, etc.

Is VAT included in the price?

There is no VAT tax, you are renting the grounds only, there is no sale of merchandise on property.

Is insurance included?

Insurance is NOT included, but IS Required (see Item #7 in the Contract) Facilities: How many bathrooms are there? There will be a total of 4 restrooms- 2 handicapped accessible restrooms; and 2 non-accessible restrooms located in the Bridal Cottage and the Bunkhouse (1 each).

Is there disabled access?

All areas of Moonshine Mountain are ADA-accessible, with the exception of The Bridal Cottage (and The Bunkhouse, currently under construction), which are not ADA-accessible.

What is the parking situation?

Virtually unlimited parking is available on site, in designated areas.

We have a Pioneer sound system, Klipsch tower speakers for the Reception Area, as well as Klipsch/Pioneer sound system for Ceremony Area. Both can be used with pre-downloaded music through phone/laptop connection. However, Bluetooth or streaming capabilities are extremely limited and unreliable at this time. We also have a portable, independent PA system that is able to be used with any of our venue structures.

Are there any noise restrictions?

Noise levels should not exceed 60db (per state laws regarding noise https://www.nonoise.org/lawlib/states/colorado/colorado.htm ), and speakers to be turned off by 9:00pm.

Moonshine Mountain will provide a TIPS certified bartender if alcohol is to be served, included in the price of your Contract package (to be arranged at time of contract).

Do we need insurance for alcohol to be served?

We also have a limited number of 8' rectangles for catering, etc. We do not provide linens. There is a white, metal arch available if desired for self-decoration at location of your choice.

Decorations

Do you have any decoration restrictions?

No restrictions, as long as any decor is temporary and does not leave lasting imprint/damage to any Moonshine Mountain property.

When are we able to set up?

You will have access to Moonshine Mountain grounds from 7:00am-10:00pm on the day of your event per your Contract, as well as during your rehearsal time the day prior if those arrangements have been made and specified in the Special Considerations portion of your contract.
